What's Involved?

If you pass the screening process and are deemed eligible, you will be randomized into the study to undergo a minimally invasive procedure or sham procedure, followed by a short hospital stay

You’ll have follow up visits over approximately two years

After the study you’ll check-in with your regular doctor annually for long-term observation

The benefit of the experimental therapy is unknown  

Yes. Participants in the first Cohort (3-5 patients) will all get the investigational treatment. The next 20 participants will be split into 2 groups evenly, 10 receiving DSP-1083 during the surgical procedure and 10 having a surgical procedure only, with no cell administration. Participants will not know which group they are in. Subjects who receive DSP-1083 will receive immunosuppressant medications, while the group who have a surgical procedure only will receive placebos.

The neurosurgeons selected for this study were qualified based on previous neurosurgical experience including deep brain stimulation, gene and/or cell therapies.

No. If you qualify and choose to participate, all study-related procedures, surgery, and medications are provided at no cost.

Screening for this study is extensive and will last approximately 3 months. Once the surgery is performed, participants will be monitored and observed for approximately 2 years.

Participation is entirely voluntary. You can stop participating at any time for any reason.

Travel, hotel, and meal expenses are covered for you and one caregiver during study visits.

No, DSP-1083 is investigational and only available through this study.
